Oh lala ! Je crois n'avoir jamais cousu une veste à corriger autant sur le devant. Je ne sais pas pourquoi ils ont mis autant d'ampleur sur le haut de la poitrine et autour du cou. Si vous avez un fort haut the poitrine et un cou d'athlète, et bien ce patron est pour vous.

En ce qui me concerne, mon petit cou de héron et mon haut de pointrine plutôt petit exige que l'on enlève du tissus !

Comme je m'en doutais, la taille est à reprendre, car mes lignes de sablier sont bien accentuées à ce niveau.

J'oubliais, peut être est-ce intéressant pour vous de savoir de quel patron il s'agit ...

Bon, rien avoir avec la photo du patron, mais vous verrez. Le résultat final sera génial.

À ce point-ci, je ne suis pas certaine si je dois reprendre le tout en utilisant la taille en dessous (sur cette photo j'ai taillé le 8 ans), c'est à dire en taillant le 6 ans ou bien en modifiant le patron. Je crois qu'une fois les manches mont, je prendrai une décision plus éclairée.

En résumé, sur le devant, la zone problématique se trouve autour du cou et sur la portion supérieure de la poitrine. Je dois faire une grosse pince pour retirer le tissus en trop et j'ai peur que celà modifie le style de la veste. 6 ans ou 8 ans ??? !

Dans le dos, ho la la, la portion supérieure de la couture princesse demande un ajustement de l'emmanchure vers le dos et cela sur 10 cm de long. Je dois retirer 3 à 4 mm sur chaque pièce.
Ensuite, de la taille à l'ourlet, sur la couture princesse encore, 4 mm sur chaque panneau sont à retirer. Églament, à la couture du centre dos, je dois retirer 3 mm à l'encolure pour ensuite passer à 4mm en descendant jusqu'à l'ourlet.

Les épingles donnent vraiment une meilleure apparence au dos de la veste.

Comme tissus pour cette veste, j'ai choisi un denim de poids moyen de couleur turquoise foncée. Le revers est beige, mais je ne crois pas l'utiliser. Je n'ai pas envie d'un vêtement avec trop de couleur. La veste ira superbement bien avec ma jupe Burda 8677. Je ne suis pas certaine de mettre les poches car j'ai peur que ma machine ne puisse coudre 3 épaisseurs de denim. Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Even Denim can be chic enough for the office

I am a fan of unconventional chic, if and only if, it is discreet. It was love at first sight when I saw this Vogue 2844 pattern. I love the simple lines of the jacket, the round neck opening, the absence of collar and the pockets in the front. I do not always feel like sewing or wearing a classic tailor jacket with a full collar. Of course red satin is not part of my staple office clothes. It is too glamour for the "girl next door" that I am and I enjoy to be.

I had this would be a versatile pattern, I could use with tones of different fabric and yet never ending-up with the same result.

By choosing Denim for this classic style, I thought I would getting the unconventionally chic jacket, I was looking for. Since it calls for a great deal of topstitches, I chose a darker colour in the same tone and intended to use is with fun. Who said that denim was to be used only for one or two purposes ?

The skirt also seduced me. It reminded me of the skirts I use to wear when I was dancing tango. I liked the layers and the fluidity of the lines.

The jacket will go (among other garments) with my Burda 8677 skirt that I enjoy so much.

Since I liked fitted clothes and this jacket is supposed to be fitted, there is work to do to have a great fitting jacket. DH does not like to pin fit my mousselines, he is afraid of making a mistake. I would love to have a friend who sews but none of them are interested . So far, this is what I had to change.

Front
The front darts were not at all big enough and long enough to take in the extra fabric above my breast and around the neck opening. Wooooo this was ugly before I took that extra fabric in. This pattern is for a person who would have a huge upper chest. If this something that happens, I have never heard of strong upper chest but what do I know about morphology ?

Or this extra fabric might be there to accommodate a full cup C size. I strongly recommend sewing a mousseline for this jacket !!!!

I also thought that the waist needed to be tapered a little bit. See the pictures on the top for more details.

Back
Oh la la ! As we like to say in French. The back was yucky and so big at the bottom. The fit was even worst then for the front.
First I had to take the center seam of 3 to 4mm on each side form top to bottom.
Second the princess seams also had to be taken in of the same amount (4mm) on each side for the sleeve open down to 10cm and from the waist down to the bottom. In total I took 2.4cm of the bottom part of the jacket. This is one inch split in 6 sections (3 seams)
Since my back is stronger at the breast level, I left that zone untouched. Or else, it would be too tight.

Still the sleeves remain to be mounted and corrected. I already made them shorter with the paper pattern, but I expect them to be still too long.

For the pockets, I am not yet decided to put them. This medium weight denim might be to hard to stitches with 3 layers ??? What do you think or suggest. The lower part of the pocket is lined with light lining fabric but the top is made with the same fabric that is folded over. There is a part of the pocket where you need to sew those 3 layers.
